Custom domains

By default your workspace lives at a Time Trakkr subdomain, but an admin can put it on a hostname you own, such as time.yourcompany.com. Once verified, your team signs in on your own domain and sees your branding there. Setup is an admin task under Settings → Branding, in the Custom domain section.

Adding your domain

  1. Open Settings → Branding and find the Custom domain section.
  2. Enter your hostname, for example time.yourcompany.com, and select Save.

Saving reveals two DNS records to add at your DNS provider. Both are needed: one routes traffic to us, and one proves you own the domain.

  • CNAME (traffic routing). Points your hostname at Time Trakkr and lets HTTPS be issued for it.
  • TXT (ownership proof). Carries a verification value that proves the domain is yours.

Add both records exactly as shown. Most providers want only the host part in the record's Name field and append your domain themselves; the section shows both the relative name and, if you need it, the fully-qualified version. If Time Trakkr can tell who hosts your DNS, it offers an open your DNS settings link straight to the right provider so you can add the records without hunting for the page.

Verifying

DNS changes take a few minutes to spread. When the records are in place, select Check verification. If the records are not visible yet, the message tells you what is missing — for example a TXT value that does not match, or a Name your provider has doubled up by appending your domain twice — so you can correct it and try again.

You do not have to sit and retry. Time Trakkr re-checks in the background every few minutes and emails you when the domain verifies. If a manual re-check is temporarily locked, the section tells you when the next one is available.

After verification, the HTTPS certificate can take a few more minutes to issue, and the domain usually goes live within the hour. Keep the CNAME record in place afterward — it is what routes your traffic.

What a verified domain enables

Once the domain is verified and live:

  • Sign-in on your own domain. Your team can sign in at your hostname, including with Continue with Google, which is handed back to your domain automatically.
  • Your branding, front and center. Your logo and workspace name appear on the sign-in page and in the app at that address. You upload the logo in the same Branding section.

Your original workspace subdomain keeps working too; the custom domain is an addition, not a replacement. Only owners and admins can reach Settings, as described in roles and permissions.
