What it does

Three features switch togetherThe in-app assistant, natural-language time entry and calendar drafts all use your key once it is saved.
Checked before it is storedSave and verify makes one small test call, so a wrong key or an empty account shows up now, not next week.
Encrypted and write-onlyNobody can read the key back, us included. Settings shows its last four characters.
Your choice of modelPoint the assistant at another Claude model. Entry and calendar drafts stay on Haiku.

How to set it up

  1. An owner or admin opens Settings → Assistant.
  2. Paste the key and choose Save and verify.
  3. Leave the model on the default unless you have a reason to change it.

What it won’t do

  • Affect Claude or another assistant connected over MCP. That already runs on your own subscription.
  • Change what Time Trakkr stores. Assistant conversations are still saved so you can scroll back.
  • Change Slack. The /track command runs fixed operations and never asks a model anything.
  • Show you the key again. If you lose your copy, create a new one at Anthropic.

Why use my own key?

If you already have a commercial agreement with Anthropic, if your legal team has approved Anthropic but not us as a subprocessor, or if you would rather the usage was billed to you.

What happens if the key stops working?

Time Trakkr says which problem it is: a rejected key, an account with no credit, or your own rate limit. Most are fixed in your Anthropic console.
