Joining by your company email domain

An administrator can let anyone with an address at the company's domain join their workspace without an invitation. They set this under Settings → Security, in the domain auto-join field. A public mail provider such as gmail.com can never be used, and a domain can belong to only one workspace.

Signing up

  1. With Google. Select Continue with Google using your company account. Google has already confirmed the address, so you join straight away and land in the workspace.
  2. With an email and password. Create your account as usual. You then see Confirm your email to join, followed by the workspace name, and we email you a link. Open it and you are added to the workspace.

Nothing joins until that link is opened. Signing up with an address only proves someone typed it, so without the confirmation anyone could register a colleague's address and see your company's workspace.

If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder, then select Send it again on the same screen. You can resend a few times in ten minutes.

What you join as

You join as a member. An administrator can change your role afterwards under Team.

If your account was created earlier by an import, for example during a Harvest migration, confirming your address activates that account with the role and rates the import gave you, rather than creating a second one.

For administrators

Turning the domain on does not add anyone by itself. People join as they sign up and confirm, and each one appears under Team as they do. Turn the field off to make sign-ups invite-only again; anyone who already joined stays a member until you remove them.
