Help / Getting started

Workspace settings

Settings holds the choices that apply to everybody in the workspace. Owners and admins change them; everyone can see them.

You can also just ask the assistant — "are notes required on time entries?", "do we round time?", "what's our week start?" — and it reads the actual configuration rather than guessing.

Time tracking

  • Require notes on time entries. Off by default. Switch it on and an entry cannot be saved without a note — in the timesheet, from a timer, from the assistant, and over the API. It applies from the moment you turn it on and never rewrites entries already saved.
  • Rounding. Round every duration to the nearest 5, 6, 15 minutes and so on. Off means durations are stored exactly as entered.
  • Timer mode. Record a duration, or a start and end time.
  • Week starts on. Monday, Sunday or Saturday. Drives every weekly view and report.
  • Duration format. Decimal shows 2.50; HH:MM shows 2:30. One choice, used across the whole platform.
  • Date format, clock, number and currency format.
  • Default weekly capacity, used for utilization and the Schedule.

Approvals

  • Auto-submit weeks on your behalf, and auto-lock weekly or monthly.
  • Whether a manager may approve their own time.
  • The deadline day and time a week is expected by.

Visibility

  • Restrict members to assigned projects, so people only pick from work they are on.
  • Who can see project notes — admins, or managers too.
  • Whether budgets count all hours or only billable ones.

Security

  • Require two-factor authentication and require Google sign-in. These record the posture your workspace wants; what is actually enforced depends on how people sign in.

Invoicing

Number prefixes, default tax, default due days, whether an invoice shows total hours, and whether to warn about unapproved time. Appearance — logo and brand color — is under invoice configuration.

Modules and add-ons

Turn whole areas on or off for the workspace, and see which add-ons are enabled. Switching a module off hides it for everyone; nothing is deleted.

What is not here

Anything belonging to one person rather than the workspace — your own timezone, notification preferences and password — lives under your account, not Settings.
